Monday, September 29th, 2008

A great way to increase the value of your website is by adding video. Video can help you convert site visitors into customers. You may think, my product/service doesn’t lend itself to video. Every business can benefit from video.

Let me give you a few examples on the types videos you could add to your website:

Customer testimonials – Customer testimonials provide a great way to build credibility online.

Tutorials

Tips

Training

Webinars

Company introductions

There are too many to mention, but you get the idea.

The key to successful video content is to make it a resource to your site visitors. The video should be there to help your customer in some way, not to boost your ego about your website.

You don’t need a professional crew to shot your video. You can use any digital camcorder to create your videos. Once you have shot your video, you need to edit it. There is a great tool for you to use. The best thing about it is that it doesn’t cost anything. This tool is located at www.jumpcut.com.

Once you have edited your video, you are ready to put it online. I recommend using YouTube, because video can take up a lot of bandwidth. By uploading your video to YouTube, you don’t have to host your video on your own website. All you need to do is link from your website to where your video is located on YouTube.

One more thing. People prefer short videos online. I recommend keeping your videos under two minutes.

I hope you find this valuable information.
